Walter and Beatrice

Tim sends across a pair of lovely vintage three speeds for admission to the gallery. The bikes are each named, which I find adorable. Tim says:

Here are photos of our well-loved pair of '67 Raleighs. "Walter" is a black 1967 Sports Deluxe complete with dynohub and working front headlamp and rear bullet tail lamp. All parts are vintage with the exception of new tires. We were fortunate to find a vintage Prestube rack that we repainted and installed.

"Beatrice" is a 1967 Raleigh Superbe that we purchased from the original owner who checked us pretty carefully to make certain her bike would be moving on to a good home. The bike had some issues, including a dead front dynohub that needed a new magnet (hint: NEVER remove the armature from the magnet - this causes total and permanent failure). After a full restoration, we thinks she looks pretty good!

Agreed, Tim. A good looking couple!

I think I have a raleigh superbe from the same era. Mine's been rebranded as an "Oregonian", so it doesn't say Raleigh anywhere. It does have the working dynahub. What did you replace on yours? I'm thinking about redoing mine, although it's in pretty good shape now.
